Holocaust Day 2020

The burnt smell of hell

haunts my dreams,

smoke clouds streaked with fire,

laden with millions of souls,

drop their burden in eternal skies

where the souls come to rest,

and quench their parched thirst

with life-giving love

rising on sighs from the earth,

before entering

Heaven’s wide-open gates.

Brethren below, of body and soul,

remember us, the multitudes say,

reignite the flame

in every Jewish heart,

live, labor and persevere,

redemption is near.
